About 42 Zurich
42 Zurich is a non-profit educational institution that provides access to practical IT training, regardless of background, prior education or financial means. The campus in Zurich Oerlikon is set to open in September 2026.
The training programme is free of charge and skills-based, made possible by companies, foundations and institutions: learning takes place through project-based work along a gamified learning pathway, without traditional lectures, but with a high degree of personal responsibility and close collaboration. The focus is on practical skills, independence and the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing technological environment.
42 Zurich is part of the international 42 Network, which comprises over 50 campuses worldwide, including 42 Lausanne, 42 Berlin, 42 Vienna and 42 Heilbronn. The model traces its origins back to École 42, which was founded in Paris in 2013. 42 Zurich is the network’s second campus in Switzerland, following the opening of 42 Lausanne in 2021.
