What is the ‘Piscine’ and how does it work?

The Piscine is a four-week, intensive programming course that introduces you to the basics of coding. The name comes from the French word for ‘swimming pool’ – you’re thrown in at the deep end and find out whether 42 Zurich’s learning method suits you. No prior knowledge is required, but you should be on site for at least 4 hours a day. The school is open 24/7, including at weekends.

How long does the Core Curriculum last?

The Core Curriculum usually lasts 12 to 18 months, depending on your individual pace. You learn at your own pace and must complete a certain number of projects within a set timeframe to remain on the course.

When and how do I find an internship?

After the Core Curriculum (after approx. 12–18 months), you will undertake your first internship (4–6 months). 42 Zurich supports you with a network of partner companies and prepares you for applications. Many students find internships or even permanent positions whilst still studying.
